DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone Honest Review 2026 – Should You Buy It in India or Not?

For the past few months, many customers visiting the store have been directly asking about the Mini 4 Pro Drone– “Should I buy the DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone or look for something else?”

I have personally been flying drones for the last few years and interact with customers daily at the store. So today, I am not giving any marketing talk — this is a completely honest and practical review.

I used this drone regularly for around 1.5 months— during a Goa trip, in hilly areas, real estate shoots, and even on normal weekends in an open field near Noida.

So the real question is — is it still worth buying DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone in 2026?

First Understand This

DJI Mini 4 Pro is still the most popular drone in India under the 250-gram category. The biggest advantage is that you can fly it without a license (for hobby and personal use). For many people, this is a game-changer.

Current Price (May 2026):

For most first-time buyers, the Fly More Combo usually makes more sense because of the extra batteries and charging hub.

Unboxing & First Impression

One thing that stands out after unboxing is how compact and lightweight the drone is.

The build quality feels very premium. Because of the foldable design, it easily fits into a travel bag. The controller is also comfortable, and the experience becomes even better with the RC 2 controller that comes with a screen.

This is probably where the Mini 4 Pro justifies its price .

Camera Quality

This is the strongest point of the drone.

  • 4K 60fps HDR Video
  • 20MP Photos
  • Excellent Color Science
  • Dual Native ISO Support

How does it perform in real life?

In daylight conditions, the video quality is excellent. Colors look natural and sharp. Even in low light (evening or indoor conditions), it delivers very good results, although it is not as powerful as the Air 3S.

I captured cinematic shots using this drone and clients really liked them. The QuickShots features are also very fun and useful.

Flight Performance & Features

One thing I personally liked was how quickly it was ready to fly after setup. The connection process feels smooth, and within a few minutes, the drone is usually ready for takeoff.

  • Obstacle Avoidance: 360° omnidirectional — this is its biggest safety feature. It avoids trees, buildings, and wires very effectively.
  • Flight Time: In real-world conditions, you can get around 38–42 minutes (with the Fly More Combo).
  • Transmission: The O4 transmission system is very strong. You can get a clear signal up to 10–12 km in open areas.
  • Wind Resistance: Comfortable up to 20–25 km/h winds. Above that, it struggles a little.

Things I felt could be better:

  • No 1-inch sensor (therefore Air 3S performs better in extreme low light)
  • It has digital zoom, not optical zoom
  • In very strong winds, you need to fly carefully

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Under 249g weight (no license tension)
  • Excellent camera for its size
  • Very safe flying experience (obstacle avoidance)
  • Great for travel and vlogging
  • Easy to use for beginners

Cons:

  • Average performance in high wind conditions
  • Behind Air 3S in low-light performance
  • Slightly premium pricing

Who Should Buy It?

  • Travel vloggers & content creators → Best choice
  • Beginners who want to get serious → Highly recommended
  • Real estate photographers → Very good option
  • Family trips and hobby flying → Perfect

Do not buy if:

  • You need heavy cinematic low-light shots
  • You do professional paid shoots (Air 3S or higher models are better)

Final Verdict

My personal opinion: If your budget is under ₹1 lakh and you want an all-rounder, safe, and license-free drone, then the DJI Mini 4 Pro is still an excellent choice.

Even in 2026, this drone is maintaining its value. Yes, new models are coming, but the balance offered by the Mini 4 Pro is still very strong.

Recommendation: Go for the Fly More Combo — the extra batteries and charging hub are extremely useful.

FAQs – DJI Mini 4 Pro

Q1. Do you need a license to fly the DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone?

If you are flying it for hobby, travel, or personal use, then no license is required. Because it is under 250g, registration is generally not needed. However, for commercial use, a license is required.

Q2. Should I buy the Fly More Combo or the normal version?

Always choose the Fly More Combo. The extra batteries and charging hub are very useful and provide better value for money in the long term.

Q3. How much wind resistance does this drone have?

You can comfortably fly it in winds up to 20–25 km/h. Beyond that, you need to be careful.

Q4. How does the camera perform in low light?

It performs well during evening time and indoor low-light situations. However, if you want even better low-light performance, then the Air 3S is a better option.

Q5. How much warranty do you get in India?

If you buy it from an official DJI authorized seller, you get a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. You will get the same warranty from us as well.

Q6. Can this drone be flown in rain?

No. It is not water-resistant. Do not fly it even in light rain, otherwise it may get damaged.

Q7. Mini 4 Pro vs Air 3S – which one is better?

If you want a lightweight and license-free drone, Mini 4 Pro is the best choice. If you need a better camera, zoom, and stronger low-light performance, then choose the Air 3S.

Unless low-light work is your priority, spending extra on Air 3S may not make sense
