Begin by mounting the D-RTK 2 on a tripod or stable base. Make sure the antenna height is around 1.8 meters for maximum signal reception. It is very important to ensure the surface is level using the built-in electronic bubble level. If you’re in a known coordinate location, input the reference coordinates in the app to improve accuracy without needing manual calibration.Power It Up Properly
Insert a fully charged WB37 battery or MG-12000P battery, depending on your expected session duration. WB37 gives over 2 hours, while the MG-12000P can last more than 50 hours—perfect for long fieldwork. Press and hold the power button until the indicator lights turn on, and wait for it to establish satellite lock.Connect and Sync Devices
Depending on your drone or controller, connect the D-RTK 2 via OcuSync, Wi-Fi, LAN, or 4G. The supported frequencies range from 2.4 GHz to 5.8 GHz, depending on region. Ensure your remote controller and drone are within the recommended distance—up to 12 km depending on mode and local regulations.Allow It to Initialize
On a cold start, it takes under 45 seconds to get ready. On a hot start, it’s even quicker—less than 10 seconds. RTK recapture is super-fast too, under 1 second. Once positioning is locked, your drone can start flying with centimetre-level accuracy.Monitor and Log Data
The station logs differential data in RTCM 2.X/3.X formats and comes with a 16 GB memory. Position updates happen up to 20 times per second, and the IMU’s 6-axis accelerometer helps in sloping measurements and detecting movement. After use, power off the station and safely pack it back.
How to Take Care of the D-RTK 2
Protect Against Harsh Weather
Even though it has an IP65 rating and can survive light rain and dust, don’t leave it exposed for too long. Store it indoors in dry, ventilated spaces after every use to avoid long-term exposure damage.Clean It the Right Way
Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe the body and antenna. Avoid any wet or chemical-based cleaners as they may affect sensor accuracy and degrade materials.Battery Maintenance is Key
Never overcharge or deep-discharge the lithium-ion battery. Store batteries at 40–60% charge if not in use for long durations, and always use the official charger to avoid damage.Transport with Caution
Use a dedicated hard case with foam padding when transporting the unit. Remove the antenna extension rod and store it separately to prevent bending or breakage.Software and Firmware Upkeep
Regularly connect to the DJI Assistant 2 software to check for firmware updates. Keeping your system updated ensures smoother performance and compatibility with new drone models.
